About Me

Jacob Lin 林鴻恩 is an emerging Queer Taiwanese-Canadian Theatre Artist based in Tkaronto (Toronto). His work is primarily based in Sound and Lighting Design and Playwriting although he likes to wear a lot of hats. Both Figuratively and literally!

Jacob holds a B.FA in Theatre Production/Design and Playwriting from York University where he specialized in Sound, Lighting and media design. As well as Playwriting. Selected production credits include The Hooves Belonged to the Deer (Tarragon Theatre), Ok, you Can Stop Now/X and Da Spirit (Theatre Passe Muraille), Prodigal (The Howland Company), Post-Democracy (Tarragon Theatre)

Jacob has had the pleasure of working with theatre companies like fu-Gen Asian Canadian Theatre, Tarragon Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille, Buddies in Bad Times, The Howland Company, Toronto Fringe, Paprika Festival, Cahoots Theatre, Crows Theatre and Factory Theatre. In 2018 he was selected to be a part of the Kitchen Creators Unit where his play I Ran Home to Find Home had a public reading. His play would later be accepted to the Foundry Creators Unit at Factory Theatre.

In his work, Jacob is obsessed with examining the experiences and intricacies of Asian-Canadian experience always with a little bit of comedy.
